Shikoku Railway Heritage Center

Shikoku Railway Heritage Center is located next to the east of Iyosaijo station in Saijo city, Ehime prefecture. It is a new sightseeing and exchange area in Saijo city, forming the railway historic park in Saijo with the neighboring Shinji Sogou Memorial Center and the sightseeing and exchange center. Inside this wooden building were exhibited the first train 0 type of Shinkansen which appeared when the new trunk line had been opened to traffic in 1964 and the first diesel train DF50 type designated as the railway monument which played the main part in Shikoku. The DF50 type of electrical diesel train is preserved in the movable condition, and the railway siding which is separated from the neighboring Yosan line is dragged into the center. In addition, the old railway goods are exhibited there.
