The Group of Red Brick Warehouses in Maizuru

2011 Hama, Maizuru City, Kyoto Pref.
● Summary

Many red brick buildings which the navy mainly constructed when the former navy Maizuru port admiralty was inaugurated in 1901 are in existence, and those red bricks which went through the wind and snow create an exotic atmosphere. Maizuru can be said to be a prominent brick city in Japan, for many red bricks are used to construct the naval facilities such as warehouses and factories, including the batteries, the railroad company and the Hoffman kiln, one of only four ones which remain all over the country.
