● Summary  

 

The old post town Unuma (Unuma-juku), the 52nd of 69 stages on the highway Nakasen (Nakasen-do), had been the traffic key point of this area connecting Aichi Pref. and Gifu Pref. in the old days since the Kamakura era from the year around 1200. You can enjoy taking a stroll along the historical sites like the Daianji bridge over the Daianji river, the stone monument engraved with a haiku of Basho Matsuo (a Japanese Haiku poet), the national designated tangible cultural properties which retains traces of a post town and the cityscape of important buildings.
