● Summary  

 

A folk museum which aims at handing down the old-time skill and way of life by reproducing traditional handiwork and annual events, displays the lifestyle of farmhouse on the hills and among the mountains from the Meiji era to the middle of Showa era by using folk implements as well as produces the old-time Japanese living and scenery which have been vanishing. You can actually see a lot of handiwork which craftsmen such as a smith, a weaver, a charcoal burner and a papermaker made and besides experience weaving, papermaking, bamboo work and so on. It has almost vanished in our present life for ancient people to have created the things needed for their life by making the most of nature using hands and feet. It provides a good opportunity to experience such an old-time life and think about it.
